Mac won´t recognize SSD after upgrade

Hi.

I´ve upgraded my mac with a 500GB SSD.

I did clone the disk with SuperDuper. When I innstaled it and start up, the mac can see that there is a harddrive in.

So I tested a bit. Tried a clean install, but i get a error during the install, saying that that OSX can´t be installed on the disk.

Tried a clean install from USB, and that worked, but a soon as i installed the disk back in the mac, it can´t me recognized..

The disk works fine with my MacBook Air. But not with the Pro.

The old disk still works.

What version of mac OS do you have?

And just to make sure: are you installing the SSD in the DVD/Optical bay or replacing the HDD at the SATA cable?

さんによる

The OS i tried to install is Yosemite. On the old harddrive there is OS Mountain Lion 10.8.5

I´m replacing the old HDD. Haven´t done anything with the optical bay.

Can you give us the make and model of the drive you put in

How was the new drive formatted?

さんによる

It´s a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" SSD. Have used this in others Macbooks and iMacs

Yes, it was formatted.

Also: If I try to vertify or repair the ssd disk in disk utility (in the macbook pro), I get error.

If i try to vertify or the ssd disk in disk utility from USB or on my macbook air, it works fine..

Aslo tried a different SATA cable..

Lets start off by checking your systems firmware. Follow this Apple T/N: About EFI and SMC firmware updates for Intel-based Mac computers. Make sure yours is at this level or newer.

You talk about trying a second SATA cable was this brand new or used? These cables tend to be fragile and if you have an older system which had the original Apple HD many had SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) drives. Unlike your Samsung SSD which can run at SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) the original SATA cables were only rated for SATA II devices. You may want to get a new cable and/or make sure you got the newer rev of the cable. Here's the part you want: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable - Apple P/N 923-0104
