Computer monitor is blank

If the screen does not show an image or you know that the computer is on but you get a blank screen, the problem could be fixed by checking several things. The first thing to keep in mind is that the power saving commands of the computer blank the screen when not in use. Try touching any key on the keyboard to bring the screen back. If this does not work then follow these steps:

1. Check the brightness level on the computer because it might be too low. Adjust it until you can see an image on the screen.

2. Check to see if your settings are set for an external monitor. This will turn off your computer screen.

Press <Fn>+<F5> to open the display menu and select the display back to the computer.

3. The computer could be in hibernate or sleep mode. Press and release the power key to resume screen.
