Replacing Firewire Port Guide?
My Firewire port seems to be dying. Where am I missing the guide that details repair or replacement for this problem?

Sadly, your only option here is to replace the complete logic board following this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 17" Unibody Logic Board Replacement. If you know of someone who is skilled in SMT soldering you might be able to replace the socket alone if that is the problem.
