Since I don't really remember when my Macbook Pro was purchased, I'm just wondering what the difference is between the two Harddrive cables. Quite sure I've got a mid 2010

There're the same but I would use the one from the 2012 model as it is more substantial and less likely to fail. MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable
