Enter key not working

Hi everyone,

my enter key isn't working anymore. All other keys are working fine, but without the enter key, the device is unusable.

Is there a possibility to change the keyboard without changing the whole case?

You can find the keyboard alone for this model. Do a google search on MacBook Pro a1297 keyboard replacement. While its a bit of work it can be replaced. You'll have 50+ screws to get the keyboard out, so be prepared!

Review the IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 17" Unibody Upper Case Replacement on getting the upper case off, and some of the vids people have posted on YouTube replacing the keyboard, before you start. Some repair outfits can do the job for around $200 US.
