If your device won't turn on the battery of the device may be dead or below the critical battery level (About 15%). Try charging the device and turning it on again. If this does not work refer to the troubleshooting page for replacing the battery.

You should not just immediately replace the battery. This may be an unnecessary repair that can end up costing money but not ultimately fixing the issue.

If the device will not turn on but you have been charging the device, then the problem might be your charger.

Try using a different charger to charge the device. If the device still does not turn on then there are many possible other problems that can cause this: Some of them are fixable while others are not.

Like Grant suggested, it could be a faulty battery in which that can be replaced.

Also, it can be a software issue. In this cause the device might be "bricked" which means that the device is missing necessary files in order to boot and fails before initializing the boot up process. If this occurs then you may way want to contact the manufacturer and talk see if they can repair the device.

I had my tablet charging for about 3 hours then it would not come on. Thanks to Daniel, I figured out it was the charger that came with it, that was the malfunction! I put it on my Android phone charger and now it's charging from 0%! I'll let you know if that completely solves the problem with my A1040 not turning on.
