iPhone 4s missing grounding clips, 50% of screws.

And this, my friends, is why you let a professional fix your electronics.

Let me give you all a bit of backstory;

Guy came in a bit ago, complained that his Iphone screen cracked and wants me to replace it. OK, no big deal, I have an extra spare screen ready to go. He said he broke it once before and had one of his buddies fix it. So I open it up, and notice that the pressure contact near the battery is gone. I go further down the rabbit hole, and discover that half the screws on the cable cover are gone. Also, ALL of the small metal grounding clips are gone, numerous screws in, on and around the motherboard are gone, and the 6 screws on the side that fasten the screen.

Brothers, is there any hope for this lost phone?

Thanks, I do have some spare replacement screws, but just wondering what impact having lost ALL of the small metal bits would have for the phone.

As long as the logic board and all of the "functioning" components work - yes. I keep several complete screw sets on hand for the 4, 4s and the 5. I also keep extra sets of the "small parts" - grounding clips, etc. I'd definitely give it a shot. Worst case scenario, it doesn't work... But maybe, you get to be the guy that finally fixed it (and kept it from being recycled). I can give you sources for the parts if you like.

Update

Leaving them out would not be good for the function of the unit. Bad wi-fi reception, etc. generally, I have found iDevices to follow the "there's no such thing as extra parts" rule!

Can you tell me where I can obtain a replacement grounding clip for an iphone 4s? I was in the process of replacing the battery and the grounding clip must have grown legs and run away.

I would also like to replace the two screws that hold down the metal battery tab that needs to be screwed down to the iphone. Do you have any sources for these screws?

My iphone is dead until I obtain these parts.
