Thanks for your reply,

I reseated both ends of the LVDS cable. I Also reseated both the connections on the inverter. The one thing i did notice is every time i reboot, even without making any changes, the "faulty" half of my LCD panel does something different each time. For example, it will be gray once, the it will be black, or white with black lines or different colored lines (all vertical). Does this random behavior mean anything?

Thanks

If the LVDS cable is good and well seated at both ends and you get a normal video on an external monitor then your LCD panel is the culprit. If the screen is lightened then there's no problem with the inverter board and cable.

Did you get it to work? What did you do?

First, connect the MBP to an external monitor to check if the problem is caused by the GPU or by the screen. If the external monitor show a normal screen then the logic board should be OK. Knowing the GPU is OK now concentrate your attention to the internal display LVDS cable connection: lift up the top case and remove the LVDS cable connector from its socket then fully reinsert it. Put back the top case without screwing it, connect the AC adapter and boot the machine. If the video is normal then the repair is done. If not, the cable or the LCD panel could be faulty. You'll have to swap parts to solve the issue.

This unanswered question is what brought me to iFixit in the first place.
