Looks like a bad LCD to me.

Still looks like a bad LCD to me. Have you tried an external monitor yet? My bet is that it will be normal with an external monitor ;-)

i dropped my mac book pro in march and it bent the metal bit on the bottomleft corner of the screen, the laptop was fine and nothing else happened. the actual screen was not bent or affected. recently (August) my screen has started doing the same thing as is pictured above (blue tint) can these two things be related? is it likely? my laptop has also been freezing and crashing but the apple store say there are no problems they can diagnose

That appears to be your Appearance and Highlight color...(what you get when you select text ) change/managed in SystemPreferences->General:Appearance.

If you are not intentionally selecting things your SystemPreferences-Trackpad settings' may be too sensitive, set incorrectly or your trackpad is misbehaving.

If this Answer is helpful please remember to return and mark it Accepted.

Nothing happens or change when I go in SystemPreferences->General:Appearance, and change it. Please try to be more instructive or enlightening! Thank you in advance!

I think is not something from Trackpad I think is something from the screen!

If it were the screen, or VGU/VGC everything would be tinted.' Your pictures appear to show large sections of web pages that look normal, further there are different rows of pixels that are colored... if it were the display or damaged pixels/circuits the same pixels would always be affected. Try creating a new account and use that if the problem does not follow it's not hardware related. . If an external monitor does not exhibit this behavior, the VGU/VGC is eliminated as a possible source - but if you see the same thing on an external monitor there's your problem. Connect a USB keyboard and mouse (need not be Apple manufacture) then reboot (leave connected). You might also find your problem goes away... if it does I would suspect the top case (as I originally thought).

Try deleting the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist file if creating a new account solves your problem.

Boot up in Safe Mode (hold down the Shift key) when starting up. Let us know if the problem persists, this will tell us if the issue is hardware or software related.

Sometimes you have to run the AHT 2 or 3 times for it to find a problem.

I also face same problem , i think it is from Ribbon problem which is used as a connector from Motherboard to LCD. You can try out by changing Once .
