I am trying to save some battery. Can you put it into sleep mode without stopping the music? (Similar to ipod touch?) I know you can do it with the 6th gen but any way to do so with the 5th generation.

I think your confusing things a bit here. The screen goes dark after a period of time (which you can set), review your settings. It doesn't go into sleep mode (none of the iPods do when they are playing). Sleep mode is only when the player is not being used after a period of time.

My ipod's screens turn back in a minute or so and the music stops too, whenever the screen turns black. How can i solve this problem?

I suspect you're battery is worn-out.
Any other suggestion?
