Look at your display cable again. It's likely loose or damaged.
Inverters are also a common failure on these laptops with how hot they get and the confined space they're in. It's unlikely this is the cause because they're built with this in mind, though. It's more then likely the display. Pink backlight is often a sign of CCFL failure afoot. However it can still be the inverter, but people who want to try this are usually holding some hope that a part made to be abused will fix it. It usually doesn't.
Reconnect the display cable inside the display. It probably got bumped in the process. If that doesn't do it go to the motherboard. It's not likely, but could be loose here too.

If that doesn't do it, the display is probably destroyed. Cable usually isn't busted in these laptops. That's a false hope held by people who want this stuff fixed when it does nothing the vast majority of the time. Cables can be damaged, but it's so rare I'd consider that last.
