prefurbished RROD xbox from ebay

So the other day i bought a what a thought was a broken xbox 360 from ebay for a really low price, when i got it i cracked it open with the kit i got from ifixit.com and what i discovered was that the original user or someone before him had previously refurbished it, replacing the xclamps the thermal paste and pretty much everything. I continued to re replace everything in it, this was my first time doing it but i had no problems at all. When i put it back together to turn it on i still got the same flashing ring. assuming i did everything right any ideas on how to fix this mess?

Sam Legierski, the X-clamps work by putting additional pressure on the IC to close the microcracks (thanks to lead free solder). You may have to try to reseat everything and see if that makes a difference. The only other way would be to reflow the IC's. A permanent fix would be to reball the logic board. Of course, all that the issues are related to the bad solder.

how do i reset everything? just go over and do it again? and how do you reflow the IC's...sorry for the noobishness thanks for all the help

Sam Legierski, that is what I would do. Take it all apart again, take your time and redo it. Be careful with exerting the pressure on the X-clamps, you do not want to flex the board to much. Check this guide for the reflow.

Reflowing is your best option. Its pretty easy, and we've got a guide for it here.

Alex Jansen, is that a different guide from the one I linked to? :-)

Nope it appears to be the same. I didn't see it before I posted this, because I only read your answer.
