The Printer isn't Connected to the Network
The printer isn't connecting wirelessly to the internet.
The Ethernet Cable is Connected
The Ethernet cable turns off the printer's wireless capabilities. Make sure this cable is not plugged in to the printer or your device.
The Wireless Setup Wizard Settings Need to be Updated
When establishing a wireless internet connection to your printer, you will need to enter the Wireless Network Name (SSID) and the Wireless Password (WPA or WEP). To find the name and password, look on the back or side of the wireless router you are trying to connect to. From the settings page of the control panel of the printer, select Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the onscreen instructions for setting up a wireless internet connection.
Additional help on establishing a wireless internet connection can be found here on page 224.

The printer shows a "Problem with Ink System" error and stops printing.
The Ink Cartridges are Leaking
Follow the steps to check for leaking ink cartridges:
1. Turn the printer on and open the ink cartridge access door.
2. Press the front of the first ink cartridge to remove it from the printhead.
3. Inspect the ink cartridge for leaks, being careful to avoid getting ink on your skin or clothing. If the cartridge is leaking, replace it with a new cartridge. Otherwise, slide the cartridge back into its color-coded slot and gently push it forward until it clicks into place.
4. Repeat steps 2-4 for all other cartridges.
5. Close the cartridge access door.
The Printing Mechanism is Faulty
It's possible to have a faulty printing mechanism. Follow the steps to reset the printing mechanism:
1. Turn the printer on and wait until the printer is silent.
2. With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and unplug the power cord from the outlet.
3. Wait at least 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the outlet and reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
5. Turn the printer on and wait until the printer is silent before attempting to print again.
The Paper Falls Out of the Printer
The paper does not stay on the tray once it's printed.
The Output Flap is Broken
The piece of plastic that keeps the printed papers in place is no longer attached. This results in papers sliding off after they are printed.
The Output Tray isn't Extended Far Enough
Extend the tray to the "Legal" position, as indicated by the writing in the middle of the tray. This will allow the printed pages to lay flat once printed, and prevent the pages from folding up or falling off the tray.
The Paper is Jammed
The printer shows a "Paper Jam" error and stops printing.
Tray 1 or Tray 2 Jam
If there is a paper jam in a paper tray, press the Power button to turn of the printer and disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer. Remove all paper from the tray and place your fingers in the slot of the front of tray to remove the tray. Gently remove any loose or jammed paper. Reload tray with a stack of paper, making sure it is properly aligned in the tray, then carefully reinsert the tray into the printer. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer: turn on the printer and try printing again.
Shreds of Paper are Stuck on the Printhead Path
If there is a paper jam on the printhead path, turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer. Carefully place your finger into the slot on the left of the printer, and pull open the ink cartridge access door. Use a flashlight to check for torn pieces of paper, gently removing any jammed or torn paper that is found. Close the ink cartridge access door and reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer. Turn on the printer and try printing again.
The Printer Output is Streaked or Missing Colors
The ink is not printed correctly on the paper.
The Printhead Needs to be Cleaned

1. Load Letter, A4, or Legal unused plain white paper into the main paper input tray.
2. Touch the right arrow button on the control panel, then select Setup.
3. Touch Tools, then select Clean Printhead.

2. Touch the right arrow on the control panel, then select Setup.
3. Touch Tools, then select Align Printer.

2. With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and unplug the power cord from the outlet.

4. Plug the power cord back into the outlet and reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
5. Turn the printer on and wait until the printer is silent before attempting to print again.
If you are able to print after resetting, you don't need to continue troubleshooting.

Follow the steps to check the printer for the latest updates:
1. From the home screen on the control panel, select ePrint. Wait for the ePrint status to display.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Printer Update, then select Check for Update Now.
If you are able to print after updating, you don't need to continue with troubleshooting.
The Paper is Dusty, Torn, or Wrinkled
Follow the steps to inspect the paper:
1. Open the output tray and remove the stack of paper.
2. Inspect for any dusty, ripped, curled, or bent pieces. Remove those pieces from the stack.
3. Remove any obstructions, such as torn paper or packaging materials.
4. Use a flashlight to view the inside of the paper tray to ensure nothing is blocking the paper from making contact with the rollers.
5. Reload a stack of 10-25 pieces of paper and close the input paper tray to resume printing.
The Paper Rick Rollers Need to be Cleaned
You will need a clean, lint-free cloth that doesn't come apart or leave fibers when used. You will also need water that is either distilled, bottled, or filtered. Tap water may damage the printer. Follow "Step 8: Clean the paper pick rollers" to clean the pick rollers.

This is a great guide. Could you elaborate on what to do if the leaky cartridge error doesn’t resolve? I put the new cartridge in and the error remains

I followed the directions for a faulty printer mechanism. The problem was not corrected. My printer makes a terrible noise and moves very slowly. It prints but takes much longer than usual. It sounds like it’s dying. Any suggestions as to what may be wrong?

It may be that the paper drive belt is worn and needs to be replaced ! Means taking the left side off the printer, removing the main mother board and a metal support that are in the way, before allowing access to the motor and belt. Can buy the belt of Ebay. Check Youtube videos where some people have done this. If you not experienced, take printer to a technician to do this !
