If you live in America, it is illegal for companies to void your warranty if you open the laptop up according to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

The thing is I live in India, and bought the laptop through Amazon India. That’s why I’m kinda unsure whether I should go ahead with the RAM addition or not. If at all you know about the Indian system, please help.
It sounds like it may be ambiguous according to this link. Are there any stickers that prevent you from opening the back cover? If not, you can probably install the RAM without voiding your warranty.
