問題

The battery would die in less than a day with no apps running, lasting only hours if I used the GPS without external power.

修理

The repair was very easy, but I'm pretty skilled at electronics already.

アドバイス

As mentioned in some comments I did not remove the display fully, I just rubber-banded it vertically to a large can without disconnecting the cables so I didn't have to put them all back. Warming the back of the case with a hair dryer first appears to have helped loosen the adhesive.
