Why You Should Clean and Maintain Your Automatic Coffeemaker

    • Remove all loose attachments such as the water tank, drip tray, and coffee beans. Open the machine using this guide.

    • Inspect the water hoses and internal components for any signs of contamination.

    • The hoses don’t always need to be replaced. Often, cleaning with a thin brush, detergent, and hot water is sufficient.

    • Remove the screw on the cover. Remove the cover.

    • Unscrew the brewing unit.

    • Carefully remove the brewing unit for inspection and cleaning.

    • Detach the drainage valve to check for internal contamination.

    • This guide shows, how to overhaul the drainage valve.

    • Pre-clean parts before placing them in an ultrasonic bath for deep cleaning.

    • If you don’t have access to an ultrasonic bath, clean all parts thoroughly with hot water and detergent. Avoid using a dishwasher.

    • Install new or cleaned hoses and replace any worn-out seals.

    • Thorough cleaning of the interior and exterior is necessary.

    • The coffee spout tends to become contaminated with coffee grease. If you want to remove it, you have to remove the spout, which can be quite time-consuming.

    • After cleaning and replacing necessary parts, reassemble the machine.

    • Run a cleaning and descaling cycle before brewing coffee again.
