This preventive maintenance is to prevent your HV battery from overheating. Over time, the fan can accumulate dirt and dust from the passenger compartment and clogs up the fins. Once that happens, it'll cause the fan to not work sufficiently to cool down the battery and thus will cause a check engine light P0A82. By doing this preventive maintenance, you will prevent the Hybrid battery from overheating. I would recommend doing this every 60k miles if you have shedding pets that sits in the back.
To clear the error code on the dashboard, disconnect the 12 volt battery on the passenger rear trunk and reconnect it.

Excellent video. Was considering doing the cleaning myself after several alarms came it. Also noticed the fan was making abnormal noise. Yes, we have a border collie dog that rides back there sometimes.

Removal of the vent cover (at 4:50) was complicated by the presence of a 12mm bolt at the bottom of the piece. Once removed, the piece came out easily.
