必要な工具と部品

    • Unplug the washing machine.

    • Shut off the water supplies if the washer must be moved far enough to strain the hoses.

    • Move the washer so you can access the rear of the console.

    • Put on anti-static gloves before handling the control board.

    • Use a 1/4-inch hex head screwdriver to remove the two long vertical screws at the rear of the console.

    • These screws are very long, so expect them to take a bit of time to fully unthread.

    • Push the console rearward by pressing or striking the console sides with a fist to release it.

    • Pivot the console up and away from the washer.

    • Disconnect the pressure hose from the console area if it prevents the console from opening far enough.

    • Slide the rear console panel from left to right to release it.

    • Lift the panel away from the console to improve access to the control board.

    • Take a photo of all wire and connector locations on the control board.

    • Disconnect all wiring harness connectors from the control board.

    • Most connectors are color-coded and keyed, so they only fit one location and direction.

    • Use a 1/4-inch hex head screwdriver to remove the four shallow screws from the plastic retaining cover.

    • Press the plastic tab on the upper corner of the board area to release the cover.

    • Lift the retaining cover off the control board.

    • Pull the central control dial straight off the front of the console.

    • Lift the control board out of the console.

    • If the Start/Pause or Deep Fill button caps shift during removal, reseat them before installing the new board.

    • Set the new control board into the console and align it with the control knob hole.

    • Align the board with the four mounting posts used by the retaining cover screws.

    • Expect the replacement board to look different than the old one, because GE uses multiple board revisions.

    • Reinstall the plastic retaining cover, seating the upper corner post first so it snaps into place.

    • Use a 1/4-inch hex head screwdriver to install the four retaining cover screws.

    • Press the control dial onto the new board shaft, aligning the flat on the knob with the flat on the shaft.

    • Reconnect all wiring harness connectors to the control board.

    • Reconnect the gray pressure hose to the sensor connection.

    • If the replacement board has an extra unused port for other models, leave it disconnected.

    • Slot the console into the washer top, making sure the console posts on both sides seat into the washer top.

    • Leave the rear panel and rear console screws off if you want to test programming before fully reassembling.

    • Move the washer to an outlet and plug it in.

    • Wait for the console lights to flash, indicating the washer is ready to be programmed.

    • Find the washer model number on the model tag by raising the lid.

    • Use the programming instructions for the exact control board model to find the matching personality for the washer model.

    • Some OEM boards include a card with instructions for requesting the programming document using the board part number.

    • If instructions won’t return when using a part number ending in a letter, try entering the part number without the trailing letter.

    • Press the Start/Pause button repeatedly until the console light pattern matches the correct personality for the washer model.

    • If the correct personality is listed as no lights illuminated, don’t change anything.

    • Press and hold the Start/Pause button for 3 to 5 seconds to save the selection.

    • Confirm programming by checking that all lights turn off.

    • Unplug the washer, then plug it back in to start fresh.

    • Press and hold the Start button, rotate the control dial about 180° counterclockwise, and then release the Start button.

    • Count about seven or eight clicks while rotating the dial, and don’t worry if you go a little past 180°.

    • Confirm diagnostic mode by checking for relay clicking and flashing lights.

    • Rotate the dial clockwise twice until the Rinse light is illuminated, then press Start to enable personality selection.

    • Rotate the dial to cycle through light combinations until the pattern matches the correct personality for the washer model.

    • Press and hold the Start button for 3 to 5 seconds to save the selection, and confirm that all lights turn off.

終わりに

Reinstall the rear console panel, lower the console into place, and reinstall the two long rear console screws once programming is confirmed.
