How to repair the display connector on logic board
here is how the story goes.
I spilled tea on my mac, its a 15 inch unibody with following specifications: 2.2 GHz intel core i 7, memory: 4GB 1333MHz DDR3, graphics: amd radeon hd 6750M 1024M. OS 10.7.4 .
In the process of drying it and cleaning any residue i opened the system. The logic board was clean however the key board had stains which i cleaned from inside after removing the logic board and underneath the keys after removing the keys individually. In the process somehow i think?? i damaged the DISPLAY CABLE IN THE PROCESS ALONG WITH THE CONNECTOR ON THE LOGIC BOARD?. TWO PINS ON THE POWER PORT SIDE OF THE DISPLAY CABLE WERE BENT SOMEHOW AND WHEN I LOOKED USING HIGH MAGNIFICATION INTO THE PORT ON THE LOGIC BOARD INTO WHICH THE CABLE CONNECTS I FOUND ONE PIN LOOSE AND TWO BENT SOMEWHAT TOWARDS THE POWER PORT SIDE IE SAME SIDE AS THE BENT DISPLAY CABLE PINS. I STRAIGHTENED THE PINS AND HOOKED UP AS IS BUT THE LCD WENT BLACK AND DEAD. I AM USING THE MAC ON AN EXTERNAL MONITOR AND IT WORKS FINE. THE VIDEO CAMERA ON LCD IS ALSO WORKING ON EXTERNAL MONITOR. SOMETIMES WHEN I REMOVE THE CABLE FROM THE EXTERNAL MONITOR WITH THE LAPTOP STILL ON, THE MAC SCREEN LIGHTS ALL UP IN PINK WITH A 2CM WHITE HORIZONTAL BAND RUNNING ALL ACROSS THE LCD IN THE LOWER THIRD AND A SIMILAR SOMEWHAT OBLIQUE WHITE STROKE ON TOP OF THIS LINE, TO MY RIGHT PARTIALLY ON THE SCREEN. THE APPLE LOGO ON THE LID ALSO LIGHTS UP WITH IT.
