Why are Windows 11 Updates Using Gigabytes of Disk Space?
After Windows updates, my backup files keep getting larger by Gigabytes. What is using up my hard disk space?

There are Windows System log files at C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\CapabilityAccessManager
These files were growing in real time after the last few Windows Updates (April 2026).
An existing program from Dell called SmartByte was bloating the files to a great extent lately,
I uninstalled the program as I did not need it and that fixed the problem.
I also deleted this folder as it is initialized to empty at restart when missing.
In my case this freed up over 60Gb of disk space on my boot drive!
