Can’t get passed the boot up screen
I can’t get it too get past the whisker logo on the boot up screen

1. Soft Reset / Forced Reboot
- Hold the Power button for 10–15 seconds until it turns off.
- Wait 5–10 seconds and then power it back on.
- Sometimes a stuck boot is just a temporary hang.
2. Check for Battery Issues
- Ensure the battery is charged fully. Even if it seems charged, a low or damaged battery can cause boot loops.
- If removable, take it out for a few seconds, then reinsert.
3. Try Recovery Mode / Factory Reset
- Many Whisker players have a hidden reset or recovery button (tiny pinhole, often on the back or bottom).
- Use a paperclip or small pin:
- Press and hold the reset button for ~10 seconds.
- Then try turning the device on.
- Some models let you boot into recovery mode (hold Power + Volume Up / Volume Down) — this lets you reinstall firmware or factory reset.
4. Re-flash Firmware (if available)
- If a reset doesn’t work, the firmware might be corrupted.
- Check the manufacturer site or forums for Whisker MP3 Player TE firmware for model 5271.
- You usually need to connect via USB, put the device in firmware update mode, and flash the official firmware.
- This will erase all data but often fixes boot-loop issues.

It booted up but half of the songs are missing
1. Check Storage
Connect the MP3 player to your computer via USB.
See how much total vs used space it shows.
If used space looks smaller than expected → files may be lost or the index corrupted.
2. Check for Hidden/Corrupted Files
On some older players, songs may appear “missing” because the database/index file is corrupt.
Look for files on the drive directly (not just via the player’s menu).
If you see the MP3s on the computer but not in the player menu → the firmware’s song index needs rebuilding.
Whisker released firmware updates for the 5271 to fix storage and display bugs.
Install the latest firmware if available — this can restore missing songs functionality.
