Hardware Question Based on Step 5 of the Circle Pad Replacement

While following the circle pad replacement guide, I've ran into an issue. I can't seem to remove the bottom right screw in the 2nd image, circled in yellow. When I initially opened it, it's the one that just was not turning, and now I've %#*@ near stripped it. How can I hope to remove it without damaging my "NEW"3DS XL? Do I risk using a bit of super-glue to set the screwdriver, and remove both? I don't know if it's safe to do with an electronic device like this.
