Possible LCD Display data cable issue - not sure

I just disassebled my 4S in order to replace the display, and when I put it back together, it worked perfectly - except the sleep/lock button didn't work. So I took it apart partway again and adjusted what I thought to be the problem. I moved the rear camera grounding (that tiny gold piece) around and - obviously - that didnt do anything for the sleep/lock button. I finally figured out that the lock button cable wasn't clicked back into place all the way and once I put it back correctly, it worked.

HOWEVER... now, the LCD screen will not display anything, just a blank screen. The lock button works, the sound/vibrations work, even the touch pad works (I had a friend call me and it rang, I swiped where normally there would be the "answer call" area, and the call was perfectly fine).

So I know it has something to do with the LCD and I think maybe I did something to the display data cable but I'm not sure. Anyone know anything that can help or how I could fix it?

It sounds like you may have shorted out the screen. It is possible you damaged the cable, but I would check the connection first. Try a hard reset (holding power and home buttons for 10-12 seconds, then keep holding power and release home). If that doesn't work, I would try to contact the screen supplier and let them know you have a defective screen. You may have shroted it out.
