iFixit LCD Vs. eBay LCD (iPhone 4s)

I know the $25-$30 ones from ebay and tmart.com has a lot of quality problems. Out of the 4 I tried (2 from ebay sellers, 2 from tmart), the 2 from ebay failed within a day or two. One of them has a poorly manufactured connector.

The 2 from tmart.com has very poor viewing angles. Color would become psychedelic with a slight tilt.

I didn't have problem with a $20 new iPhone 4 LCD from ebay seller 2 years ago. But this recent purchase of $25 iPhone 4S LCDs showed a lot of problems.

Certainly, the appearance of the quality seems high with the naked eye. But I could see the subtle defects in the LCD connectors under the magnifying glass that would not provide a proper contact. The LCD viewing angle problems is likely in the materials and/or assembly of the LCD itself.

Anyhow, low priced aftermarkets seems to be hit and miss depending on the materials and manufacturing quality of the particular batch.

I use replacements from sunsky-online.com I have never had an issue and they are $30. Heck if they dont work you could buy 4 screens for ifixit price

$129 for a iPhone 4 screen is mental I can get iphone 4 screens with genuine lcd from my supplier for £22 and warrenty

I have replaced many iPhone 4s screens and they are tedious to remove and replace. I have bought inexpensive screens off of Amazon and had them crack or just simply stop working within 1 month. If I am going to DIY phone repair for my kids phones to save money, I have have to take into account the value of my time.

Even if a screen costs twice as much or more in iFixit, my experience is that it will be a high quality screen and I will only have to replace it once. They are better quality and much more durable. I won't buy screens from anywhere else now.
