I just received a new battery for my 2015 Macbook Pro, did the first charge + 2 hours and now running it down for the first time. Install coconutbattery and it says it's 10+ years old. Install a new instance of the battery, same thing. Everything else is good but a decade old battery surely isn't good news.
I spent 2x more vs Amazon because I wanted to get away from old batteries. Is this a regular thing with ifixit now?

There are some files that may need to be manually removed so the new batteries data is recached!
Open Finder window and click on your systems drive or just used the Go > Computer menu option, navigate to Library/Preferences & locate 3 or 4 files within com.apple.power group and delete them and empty the trash as well. Restart the system. Let the system be for a good 2 minutes as it does take a bit of time for the system to rebuild the files. Once done you should see different values.
Best to do a snapshot with what you see now and then after the reset to compare.
