Wii hand missing, remote and sensor bar are fine

I purchased a wii console that was listed as not working, that the hand cursor doesn't appear. Google says that is usually due to a bad remote or sensor bar. I already have a wii console that works, with a good remote and sensor bar, so I thought this would be a good back up unit. Not so - the hand is a no show. I successfully synced the remote to this new wii, still no hand. What part of the wii console would be the culprit if it's not the remote or sensor bar??

Hi!

Did you inspect the "orange" port? Still looking good? I would clean this one with isopropryl alcohol and see how that goes.

In the worst case, you need to replace the port.

If you can share some photo's with us, that would be greatt!

The port is soldered on, so you need to de-solder the old port and solder the new one in. I would like a photo of inside the port. So we can check the contacts. It's the orange port, so you do need to take the motherboard out.

I just ordered a USB sensor bar for $8, that will hopefully be an easier fix if it's the port. Thanks! I'll keep you posted.
