Dropped phone and shattered the screen and having signal issues?

My boyfriend dropped his phone the other week and the screen shattered. He gets low or no signal along with dropped calls when he didn't before. I know you can buy replacements for the glass on ebay, but is the antenna something you can replace, if that's what the problem is?

Melissa Grande , anything at this point would be a guess. I would take a closer look at the logic board and its components when you exchange the display. "The internal frame is easily removed from the rest of the Evo. It houses the stand, antennas, LED flashes, and speaker." Check on here HTC Evo 4G Teardown According to the user's manual, if you look at the screen, the network antenna is in the top half, left third of the phone. It is possible that with the drop, the antenna just does not make proper contact. Again, you'll see more once it is apart. Hope this helps, good luck.

I looked at the teardown before I posted this to see if I could locate where the antenna was, but I was not exactly sure what I was looking for. I will look into it further and see if that can actually be replaced or, like you said, is making contact. If not, then I will have to see if HTC can fix the phone. I just hope it won't be as much as the phone cost.

Thanks for your input!

When you take it apart, you will see little copper contacts on the logic board, those will have to make contact with the corresponding contacts on the internal frame. They are for all the antennas, good luck.

Okay I found them! I didn't notice there was another page on the teardown. Thanks for helping me out, it was really helpful!
