Can't recalibrate fingerprint scanner since replacing screen. Tried the QR code but the Google tool does nothing when hooked to PC running Windows 10

This is something us Pixel owners have been struggling with for quite a while now. Heck, I have a 6 Pro that I still can't get the reader to work on.
Anyway, with all the experiments, suggestions and experience of this entire forum, the guys here at iFixit have put together a guide with the best practices that will give you the best chance of success on getting your Pixel recalibrated.
