wifi network and sound not working

Check the status of the WLAN adapter and the sound controller in Device Manager to see if they're both working OK.

If you have Win10 installed, press the Win key + x key (both together) and click on the Device Manager link that is in the menu box that opens.

When in Device Manager, scroll down to Network Adapters.

If there a red cross next to the WLAN entry, right click on the entry and select enable device and follow the prompts. Close the Device Manager window and then restart the PC in the normal manner and check if the WifI is now OK.

If there's a yellow exclamation mark next to the WLAN entry, right click on the entry and select update driver and follow the prompts. You need to be online for this to work so you need a wired internet connection via the LAN port on the PC.

If there's no error symbol to check if the WLAN adapter is working OK, right click on the entry and click on Properties and check in the General tab Device status box that it states "This device is working properly."

To check the sound controller, in Device Manager, scroll down to Sound, video and game controllers and do the same as above.
