Pitch black screen but the light power is on

Hello everyone, I just found my old 3ds from 2012/2013, I still have the charger and I decided to plug it in and leave it in charge for a bit. After more or less 2 hours I decided to unplug it and turn it on, but the screen is pitch black but the light of the power is on. It won't turn off after I press the button (tried for 5 secs, 1 min and 5 min but it won't turn off). I read that u should open the battery but I don't have a screwdriver tiny enough (I'm going to ask it to a friend tmrw) so I tried with twizzers but they screws won't unscrew :'). Do you know what the possible issue is? Any help could be really appreciated because I have so many memories in this console and I would like to have them <3

Hi Lucilla!

Is there an SD card inside the 3DS? If yes, please remove it and try to turn it on again.

If this didn’t helped, then remove the battery (yes this means you do need to wait now till you have the screwdriver). And get the battery out and try a reset.

Is the 3DS modded by any chance?

The 3DS has an SD, I tried to boot it without it inside but the situation doesn’t change.

I will try with the screwdriver and the battery! But what do you mean I have to reset the battery? Do I have just to put it out and inside again or do I have to change it?

Will it lost my photos/audios/games that are already in the DS?

Btw it’s not modded, I checked it just to make sure but no CFW or Mods inside :’)

Alright! Well, just take the battery out and press the power button for a few times, then wait for 30 seconds and put the battery back in and see if it want to boot again :). Nope, photos/audio and the games will not be deleted and should still be in there!

Alright that’s good! Hopefully it want to boot again!
