No Power or Diagnostic LEDs After CPU Upgrade

I have an iMac 27" Late 2015. I tried to upgrade the CPU. It didn't go well, but now the system doesn't power on and none of the diagnostic LEDs light up.

Unfortunately, the new CPU shifted in the socket and was damaged. Several pins were also bent. I did my best to realign the pins. They look like they're in the correct position, but I have no idea if they're staying aligned correctly when under pressure.

I reinstalled the old CPU and reassembled, but no power/LEDs. I disassembled to check the pins and CPU. The alignment on the CPU looks good this time and the pins look no different from before. I also adjusted the tension on the CPU bracket but no change.

If it's a dead board because of the socket damage, I'm prepared to replace it, but I'm not understanding why I have no power.

The power button has continuity. The AC cable is getting 120V to the PSU, The PSU is getting 12V to the board. Is this enough to rule out the PSU as faulty? Are there other voltage readings I should check before ordering a new board?

Looks like it was the NVMe adapter I had installed during the upgrade. As soon as it was removed, the system powers on a boots normally.

I was using a Samsung 990 EVO 1TB. Maybe it being Gen 4 drive is causing some problem with the adapter? Or it's just a faulty adapter, cause the drive works fine in a USB enclosure.
