Do you have trouble booting into anything else? The symptom sounds like it could be due to a failing GPU on the main logic board, which is unfortunately extremely common for the 15-inch 2011 MacBook Pro model. You may need to replace the logic board to resolve the issue if that is the problem. You could also try resetting the SMC and NVRAM, or you could try booting into Internet Recovery Mode instead. @brightseyr58352 Did you ever try to install windows on it? Or did you ever 'Patch" it to Catalina? I ask this because I have the same issue.... I can answer this question if so.
