Check if the floating keyboard setting has been disabled.
When the keyboard is on the desktop, tap on the 3 dots icon at the top of the keyboard screen (not the desktop) and then check if there's a diagonal line through the Floating setting to indicate that it is disabled.
If there isn't tap on the setting to disable the option and check if the problem reoccurs.
