I need the S/N from the original display panel

Hi. I am 100% sure that an authorized service provider swap the screen on my Late 2012 iMac for another one in very poor condition. (Mine was in perfect condition). Is there a way to find the serial number of the original display panel mounted on the iMac at the factory? Thanks!

I know that inside the Upper Case on MacBooks there is a label that has to original serial number, board id, airport card, etc. I am not sure with iMacs, but I would check inside the case.

Hi. Yes, you can find the serial number in the display itself. I was asking if there is a way to find the S/N for the panel that came with the iMac from factory. Maybe that info is available somewhere. As is a vintage computer, apple online support employees kind of refuse to provide that info.

@rdgzemi - Did you ever sign into Apple ID?

Hi! Yes, but Apple would not give that kind on info. A friend told me that if you ever took your computer to an official repair service to get a dignosis, serial numbers from the internal parts could be find in the diagnostic reports.

@rdgzemi - Yes, that is true. It will give you the Serial Number of the current logic board though.

I was thinking, if you signed into your Apple ID, then you should have gotten an email from Apple with the serial number
