Gap in between phone screen I need help with choosing between 2 risky

I recently decided to fix my own phone screen and it worked for the most part. The only problem was that I had no glue that I could use for the screen so I used 1.2mm double sided tape. The only problem is now there's a 1.2mm gap

Now I have 2 options. Attempt to seal the gap in between the gap with some type of silicon sealant for water tightness Or the hard but cleaner way which is attempting to remove the double sided tape from under my phone screen and doing it the proper way with the right glues.

The tape is applied under the center of the screen and the sides and is quite stuck in place. The tape is "industrial" grade but I'm sure it could come off with heat but I'm not sure if my display could take that heat

Given the options, here's a detailed look at the pros and cons of each:

  1. Option 1: Sealing the Gap with Silicone Sealant

**Pros:**

- Easier and quicker solution.

- Provides a certain level of water resistance.

**Cons:**

- May not look as clean or professional.

- Silicone might not bond well with the tape, leading to potential future issues.

- Could affect the overall aesthetics and touch sensitivity of the screen.

  1. Option 2: Removing the Double-Sided Tape and Using Proper Glue

**Pros:**

- Cleaner and more professional finish.

- Ensures proper adhesion and minimizes the gap.

- Less risk of future issues with the screen lifting or water getting inside.

**Cons:**

- More time-consuming and challenging.

- Risk of damaging the display while removing the tape, especially if using heat.

  1. Recommendations

**If you choose to remove the double-sided tape:**

1. **Use a Plastic Spudger:** This can help gently lift the screen without causing damage.

2. **Apply Heat Carefully:** Use a low-temperature heat gun or a hairdryer on a low setting to soften the adhesive. Do this gradually and evenly to avoid overheating any specific area.

3. **Isopropyl Alcohol:** Use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to help dissolve the adhesive. Apply it around the edges and gently work the screen off.

4. **Proper Glue:** Use a dedicated phone screen adhesive like B-7000 or T-7000 for better adhesion and a more professional finish.

**If you choose to use silicone sealant:**

1. **Choose a Clear, Thin Silicone:** Ensure it’s suitable for electronics and apply it carefully to avoid excess spreading.

2. **Precision Application:** Use a fine nozzle to apply the sealant precisely around the edges.

3. **Allow Adequate Drying Time:** Follow the manufacturer's instructions for curing time to ensure a strong bond.

Both options have their risks and benefits. If you're confident in your ability to carefully remove the tape and reapply proper glue, that would be the best long-term solution. If you're looking for a quicker fix and can accept some potential downsides, sealing with silicone could work.
