@mrnoclue why did you replace it? What make and model is your mower? What engine does it have? What else have you checked? Did your mower have the lack of power before?

Greetings, I suspect that you serviced the carb after a season and then either left the same old gas in the tank or perhaps just topped it off. I will venture to say that you did not remove the bad gas or clean any of the lines and serviced the carb then ran the same old gas through it again clogging the jets inside the carb.

My suggestion would be to remove the old gas completely from the tank and all the lines. Then proceed to clean the tank with fresh gas and the lines. Refill the tank with brand new non-ethanol premium gas. The problem should resolve itself at that point.

This upcoming season after you have put it away and won't be using it for a couple months invest in a gas additive that will keep the gas from going bad. You can purchase this at any hardware store or harbor freight its called Fuel Storage Stabilizer.

It is also possible that you have left the choke on but usually it's the previous issue.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Moe

Good morning Moe.

You are probably right, I did top the gas tank before I discovered that the tool did not start. Clean the carburetor really good and replace the main jet. Now that you mention that is exactly what I did.

I going to clean the gas tank and rework the carburetor.

Thank you very much.

For the record didn’t know about gas stabilization, or any specific procedures to store a lawnmower. Didn’t bother to read the manual.
