LG TV screen went blueish

Hello guys,

Our LG TV recently went blueish. It’s very noticable. I heard that it could be a backlight issue, but I want to make sure what’s the problem before ordering backlight strips. We already played around in the settings but nothing fixed it.

@totyamuri if it is the backlight strips, then commonly your display gets a blue hue/tint. Now yours is Blue alright :-). I have not seen it that blue being caused by backlights strips, but it is a possibility. You do want to check a couple of other things as well. First try a reset. Commonly that is done by disconnecting every single input from your TV. The unplug the TV. Hold the power button down for a minute or more. Then connect one video source and reconnect the TV. Turn it on and see if anything has changed.

Next, change your HDMI cable. Use a different cable and a different port if your TV has more than 1. Next you need to consider your picture settings. Check the menu and see if it allows you to adjust the color and if that makes a difference. If that does not work either, you may have to consider a complete factory reset. For that we need to know if your TV is indeed a 32LH510U-ZC first.

If none of that made a difference, I would consider replacing the backlight strips :-)

Thank you, I tried the resets but none of them worked. The screen is still blue tinted. The model is correctly given.

@totyamuri if there is no change with the HDMI cable/port either, then it is time to tear it down and replace the backlight. Once you remove teh back cover from you TV, Would you be kind enough and take plenty of pictures of your boards etc.? Just wanting to see if those look okay. Same with the LVDS cable and so on.

@oldturkey03 sorry for the late answer, I have ordered backlight panels and they just arrived recently. I have changed them and now the TV works perfectly. It was the burnt out backlight the issue.
