How to repair the microphone

First of all, we would need to know which microphone it is you're having trouble with. There are different ones for use when you're talking on the phone versus filming a video, for instance.

The lower microphone is located on the auxiliary board at the bottom of the phone. If it has failed then you would need to replace the board. Sorry to say that iFixit doesn't have a guide showing you how to do that repair, but there's a Spanish site called Nadie Me Llama Gallina that has just what you need.

If it's the other microphone, as nearly as I can tell it appears to be mounted on the motherboard, so you would most likely have to replace the motherboard in order to fix it. That's one you should definitely do more diagnostics on to be sure that's the problem before going to the drastic length of replacing the motherboard. I was actually surprised to find that the motherboard is readily available and wasn't actually all that expensive. Here's one site that had it; an internet search will bring up several more.
