Hi I fixed the phiips tv but now im on a sony. Do you know what ”SOC Muffin problem” is??

@ambjoerner60296

I don't know.

SOC can mean system on a chip so maybe the Sony SOC is code named "Muffin".

Makes some sort of sense to have a "computer" run a TV especially if it has Android as an OS as some have these days.

What is the model number of the TV?

さんによる

@jayeff

Its a sony 55x8505c

@ambjoerner60296

According to the service manual there are 2 SOC chips in the TV - see p.178

A lot of the troubleshooting flowcharts point to the "muffin" soc IC1000

So once you determine which SOC is IC1000 then try changing the board that it is on as you won't be able to change the IC

Hi @ambjoerner60296

No standby LED is usually due to a main board problem if the power board standby voltage is OK.

Here's the service manual.

Go to p.37 Sect. 8-2-1 AC Input and check the power circuit is OK (see p.38 & p.39 as well)

Hopefully this is of some help.

Hi @ambjoerner60296

So all the components circled aren't there??

If so then the schematic doesn't match the board

This is golden! Thank you! Refresh my memory though where do I measure the SB voltage? 🙃

さんによる

@ambjoerner60296

I think it might be the 3.5V on pin 1 of CN9101 see p.39.

さんによる

@jayeff

Shouldn't it be on p.47? I'm not sure where to measure though. Thank you in advance for helping :)

@ambjoerner60296

My mistake, I just saw 55" and not the rest i.e. not 9002 ;-(

I don't know Philips all that well but was wondering if it is the ACD lead on pin16 CN9101 (also on pin1 of CN9103 (but it shows "not connected" so maybe it is a test connector point).

In other makes of TV ACD means "AC Detect" but maybe not Philips. I don't know.

I also don't know what its voltage value would be but it shouldn't be >12V I think

Okay I’ll try a few different things. If it is the main board do you have any suggestions what to look for there? Again thank you

If i measire between C9912-C9913 I have 230V AC but between D9901-D9902 I habe 0V

さんによる

@ambjoerner60296

Where is C9912 and C9913?

I can only find R9912 and R9913

@ambjoerner60296

Looks like it might be an updated board or at least a slightly different one.

The manual shows it as an A 715G 8886.

Is this number printed on the board or something else?

it's bad enough that the Standby circuit has been deleted from the diagram but if it is a different board then this makes it very difficult.

With regards to the board I would go with the mainboard first given that the other voltages seem to be OK and also that there appears to be no obvious problems with the components on the power board i.e. no burnt out or heat stressed components or board damage

Maybe try to source a board from suppliers who accept returns for only a small restocking fee so as to minimize the cost to you if it isn't the problem and it is something else.

@jayeff

It is 715G8886 I’ll try to order a mainnoard and then I’ll see. Thank you for the help and I’ll @ you if I have further questions 😁
