Keeps saying the water tank is full

My dryer keeps saying the water reservoir is full, even though it is empty. If I restart the cycle it will work for a couple of minutes and stop again. What is the sensor that is sending this message? And where is it located? TIA

Hi @joaopaulo37789

Don't know that particular model but here's some information that may help.

It is for a Bosch WTW84270/0 (Ecologixx 7) tumble dryer.

Looking through the parts diagrams there are only two sensors or I think that there are two.

A Sensor NTC Item ID # 0527, part # 00170961 (supplier example only) but this seems to be a temperature sensor given the specifications and an Electrode, Moisture or Humidity sensor Item ID # 0217 part # 11018215 This supplier calls it a moisture sensor, this supplier calls it a humidity sensor and Bosch calls it an electrode.

I wonder if there's a switch closely associated with the tank but given the above examples which have different names for the same part/part number, it may not be called a sensor or even a switch.

Looking at a zoomed in image of the tank (click on image in the tank link above to zoom in) there's one image showing a lever on the side of the tank. Perhaps this latches into something in the machine to open it or to indicate that it is full, I don't know. Maybe it is stuck. Something to check perhaps. Bosch calls it a container condensed water and not a tank although the other suppliers listed above do call it a tank. Go figure (Item ID 0516 part # 00707089)

Hi. Thanks for your help. The diagrams helped a lot, I took a look at the dryer and as far as I can tell, maybe the problem is the sensor (the two-pronged thing) on the lower water tank, attached to the pump assembly : https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/00146...

I found nothing else that may be the origin of the problem, but... who knows...

Doesn't look like it's a separate part but integral to the pump.

Maybe test it with an Ohmmeter to see if it changes either like a switch i.e. open and close or like a thermistor i.e. resistance value changes with water level.

I´ll do that. Thanks, I will keep you posted. All the best
