Unrecognised Disc on all discs for 360

Cheers as I can see there is nothing covering the laser lens and I’ve cleaned it with some alcohol, the rails look like they are lubricated as well. I can attach a photo if it helps?

It may be for helpful for others to do that but I'm not familiar with xbox and this was the only way to post an image to show you what other users have advised to check.

Just as an observation as I couldn't see it in the videos you have already posted, is the disc spinning at all?

I sounds like it is (you can confirm by checking the disc label to see if it has moved from when you inserted it) but I can't hear if the shuttle is tracking up and down the rails trying to find the start of TOC file (Table of Contents) on the disc.

When a disc is inserted it spins and the laser is moved back and forth under the spinning disc until it finds the file.

If it doesn't usually it is a dirty disc or if it happens on every disc then a dirty or faulty lens.

By faulty it may be not being turned on or it is at the incorrect angle.

if it is not turning on then check the connections or go back to the power source for the lens.

You would need the schematics for this. You could check if you "see" the light by trying to peer through the door but DO NOT look directly at it!

If at the incorrect angle it is very difficult to adjust as this is usually done in the factory under controlled conditions and then set in place.

Mostly with replacement shuttles the lens comes set at the correct angle but you would need the one meant for the model dvd drive as they're not all the same.

Would it be safe to open the drive up aka remove the case and take a video of when it spins up etc?

As long as the laser light is not shining directly into your eyes then it would be safe enough but treat it with respect. It's replaceable, your eyes might not be ;-)

Look at it through the viewfinder or screen of the recording device and then turn off the power first after recording before doing anything else

The disc is spinning and I have confirmed it’s moved. I’ve tried tapping the top of the cd tray whilst the disc is spinning and the disc spins for a lot longer but still comes up unrecognisable.

I’ll attach a few more videos and photos to OP.

Are there diagrams for what the laser rails look like or are? Are there guides on how to replace the laser? What should you clean the laser lens with and how?
