Why wont my iPhone charge? is it the battery? or is it the port?

My Iphone 13 pro max does not want to charge. It will not charge when plugged in and does not give any notification of accessary not supported. I charge it on a brand new apple brand charger and will not work. I was able to plug it in and get it to 55% but then when I picked it up it stopped charging and I tried to plug it back in and it refused to charge. The phone works fine when its on and the battery health in settings is in the normal range. Is my lightning port shot or is my battery fried? The only physical damage is the back of the phone is cracked up but that happened months before the issue with charging so I don't think it is the problem. any ideas?
