Left I/O Board swap

I have a Macbook Pro A1260 that has recently had the left I/O board go bad. I have a I/O board from a A1226 that I have already swapped and now it charges and powers on fine just the back light seems to have stopped working (was working fine beforehand). Any ideas on how to make this work, or did i need to get a A1260 left i/o board. Thanks

The A1226 board should work fine if it's 2.2 or 2.4 GHz. Check the old board with your new board to match the same serial #s. The digits should look like this: 820-2273-A or something to that effect. Try checking the inverter connections are secure, replacing the inverter, remove and re-insert RAM chips firmly, reset PRAM, and reset SMC.

Could be a coincidence that your screen decided to break after your power board died. You might need a new LCD screen if none of the above tips help ya.

I know the answer (but probably too late). There is a small smd type fuse (F9900) on the IO board which is required to power up the backlight. It seems that in your case it got busted.
