touch no responding all the time

good morning, so i was replacing the Asus Transformer Pad TF103C (Model K010) touch ,cause the previous one was broken and not working, and after placing the new one i started facing some problems like the bottem part of the touch not responding and bit reacting properly to where i was touching.

but after some tries i fixed one of the problem but the screen still not responding all the time.

my question is, could it be the touch that is the issue or could it be the motherboard since sometimes its responds just fine and other it doesnt at all?

Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Asus Transformer Pad TF103C touch screen. It could be either a hardware or a software issue, depending on the cause of the problem. Here are some possible solutions you can try:

  • If you have not done so already, you can try to update the touch screen drivers and check for the resolution. This may fix some compatibility or performance issues with the touch screen. You can follow these steps1:
    • Press Windows key and X on your desktop and click on Device Manager.
    • Expand Human Interface Devices.
    • Locate the Touch screen driver.
    • Right-click on the driver icon and click on Update Driver Software.
  • If updating the driver does not work, you can try to calibrate the touch screen using the Windows settings. This may improve the accuracy and responsiveness of the touch screen. You can follow these steps2:
    • Type and search [Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input] in the Windows search bar, then click [Open].
    • Select [Reset], then click [OK].
    • The touch calibration has been reset to the default settings, please restart the computer and test the touch screen function again. If problems persist, please continue to the next step.
  • If calibrating the touch screen does not work, you can try to open the case and re-seat the screen pig-tails. This may fix some loose or faulty connections between the touch screen and the motherboard. You can follow these steps3:
    • Turn off your tablet and remove any external devices or accessories.
    • Remove the four Torx T3 screws that hold the back cover of your tablet. You can use a T3 Torx screwdriver for this, which you can find here: T3 Torx Screwdriver.
    • Pry open the back cover using an opening pick or a credit card. Be careful not to insert it too deep or damage any components inside. You can use these opening picks for this: iFixit Opening Picks.
    • Disconnect and reconnect the two screen pig-tails that are located on the right side down under silver tape. Make sure they are firmly attached and aligned.
    • Put the back cover back and screw it in. Turn on your tablet and test the touch screen function again.

You can also watch this video for a visual guide on how to open your tablet and re-seat the screen pig-tails: Asus Transformer Pad TF103C Screen Replacement.

I hope this helps you fix your touch screen problem. If you have any other questions, please let me know. 😊
