Hp pavilion notebook 14-ac119nf Cannot find ram location

After getting the back off, no sodimm clips visible ! There is supposed to be one, filed with a 2gb module. As the computer is sluggish, I wish to replace it with a 8gb module, but I have to find the slot first !!

Hi @jackbeauperin,

What model CPU is installed on the motherboard?

Looking at the service manual linked in the comment above, there are different motherboards used for different model variants of the laptop.

If the CPU is an Intel Core i3 or i5 then there are two ram slots (supplier image to show the ram slots near the keyboard connector - top left in image)

If the CPU is an Intel Pentium then there is one ram slot

If the CPU is an Intel Celeron, then there are none. If you have the Intel Celeron CPU then most likely the ram is hard mounted on the board and not removable

The links are based on the HP motherboard part numbers as shown in the manual above - see p.55

As it turned out, the cpu was a celeron … so this 2gb notebook was virtually useless for anything but email and surfing the web……

Many thanks for the pointer, as I couldn’t find it anywhere (including on your p55…).

@jackbeauperin

It is shown on p.55 under section headed:

"For use in HP Notebook PC models: Discrete graphics memory; Non-touch screen models:

The 6th CPU model listed shows "Intel Celeron N3050 processor spare part number(s) 814050-001,-501, -601"
