Right speaker connector torn off the motherboard

Hi, I recently had to open my New 2DS XL to replace my Dpad, as the previous one had a serious drifting issue. The problem is that I accidentally torn the right speaker connector off of the motherboard and I thought just putting it back in place would work, but that wasn't the case. Now the right speaker isn't working and I was wondering if it's because I have to solder it back in place. I have attached a picture that I got from the repair wiki where I've circled the connector I'm talking about for clarity.

Thanks in advanced.

It does appear you have to re-solder the connector on, and potentially you may have to buy a new connector.

G'day,

If you've torn the speaker connector off, chances are you've also torn the pads with it. My advice would be to see what you can use with the old connector, but you'll need to run some wires in order to have it function. Also, you'll need to run some wires from the traces on the board to the connector by scraping some of the coating off to expose the copper.

hope this helps :)

So what you're saying is that not only would I have to solder the connector back to the motherboard after scraping it, but also solder in additional wire inside the connector to restore the electrical current from the connector to the speaker cable?

I didn't understand very well.

Also yeah, I ripped off the pins alongside the pads you were talking about unfortunately.
