Why are my dash lights only dead on the bottom half?
I checked the fuse and the dimmer switch. I haven't disassembled anything yet, looking for a guide. The dash lights behind the steering wheel and the radio are OK at night. But the climate control and shifter indicators are dark at night.
As an unqualified guru, without wiring diagrams to examine and post, my best guesses; loose/damaged/corroded wiring to radio and shifter, possibly corroded ground connections (several around a vehicle). Chassis studs allows electrical/electronic ground connections. Two main grounds; battery negative to chassis and chassis to engine block.
