Is it safe to leave my phone open for a long time during a repair

I am going to repair my iPhone 7’s lightning port but it seems like it would take a long time to complete it. Am I able to do some one day, the continue another day, or should I do it all in one go?

I think it should be ok to leave it open. As long as it's dry no corrosion would happen. You probably should cover it so nothing falls on it, and to reduce any dust.
