Question about iFixit battery replacement - tabs?

I recently purchased a replacement battery and tools for the iPhone 8 Plus from iFixit.

I like to have all of my ducks in a row before beginning a project like this. I have a question about the battery. There are two black tabs hanging off of the top of the battery (see image), and those tabs are sticky on the back side (i.e. toward the back of the battery). Where do these go upon installation? Do I fold them backward toward the back of the battery?

take the plastic cover off the battery and fold them towards the front of the battery

Hi Daniel - the tabs are sticky on the *back* side, so if I fold them forward, they will not stick.

@pianoman60334 just put the battery in, they are only used for removing the adhesive behind the battery when replacing it

I just wanted to follow up - I was able to fold the tabs backwards and they stuck to the top of the battery before installation. Unfortunately, all four of the adhesive tabs on the old battery broke during removal, so it took me quite a while to get the old battery out. Fortunately, I was able to get the new battery installed and all is working.
