How do I fix the "Detailed Maps" for navigating on my Garmin Nüvi 50LM

Ive had this Garmin Nüvi 50LM for a year or two. It has never been updated so when i bought it and updated it and everything, the gps said "Detailed Maps are required for routing. No detailed maps were found on this device." How do i fix this problem?

With Garmin navigation on personal aircraft, commercial airlines, wearable watch/navigation/fitness devices, there should be world wide support available. Did you try asking online/emailing Garmin with your problem? There may be Garmin forums of owner/users sharing tips too. Your owner's manual should have information on customer support.
